Seward Harbor Opening Weekend has been a local tradition for years, with businesses rolling out the red carpet over the third weekend in May. Local residents get in on the action as well, as we celebrate the arrival of the outdoor season.

Harbor activity abounds on Saturday and Sunday, when you can share in the blessing of the fleet, watch the boat parade, or hop aboard with an open house on the US Coast Guard Cutter Mustang and other vessels. Other activities in and around the marina include business open houses and specials.

It is the beginning of the season, so don't forget to bring your boat with you and get that Coast Guard safety inspection done! Or for a change of pace, you can feel like one of the locals by attending the mural dedication on Saturday morning or volunteer to help build our local community playground. We celebrate and thank our military members this weekend, and invite members of the Armed Services and their families to a free barbeque on Saturday, May 17th, in the small boat harbor. Be sure to check out all the specials in town, too - its our way of saying "thank you".
